Synopsis:
A young artist learns that a lynching occurred on a site that is now a city park and asks the City to mark the location with a wooden cross. When the City refuses, she chooses to erect the cross herself and then burn it to reveal “the truth.”
Seeking: URSULA HENDRIX, white female, 20s. Ursula believes that she has an obligation as an artist to reveal the truth, first about a historical lynching and then about her supposedly progressive community’s willful blindness to its own racism, both past and present.
