Synopsis:
“Safe Haven’s Hospital Bar” is a comedy film about a young man who wants to prove himself ready for fatherhood after his girlfriend goes into labor. But with the odds stacked against him like his low paying job, small apartment, disapproving in-laws, and not to mention the fact that he knows absolutely nothing about babies, he turns to the veteran fathers of Safe Haven’s Hospital Bar for guidance in the delivery room.
Character BIOS
[Joseph] [GENDER: MALE] [AGE: 25-30]
Joseph is a young man who is just starting out in the world. He drives a used car, and rents a one bedroom apartment. Joseph is hard working, responsible, and dependable,with a level head on his shoulders, but is only able to land minimum wage jobs. His girlfriend’s parent’s do not approve of him simply because they come from money and Joseph doesn’t.
[Susan] [GENDER: FEMALE] [AGE: 25-30]
Pregnant Susan is a very emotional and hormonal woman. She’s overjoyed to have a baby but is admittedly a little nervous about starting a family with Joseph. Her doubt grows when her delivery OBGYN turns out to be the man she dated all four years in high school.
[Dr. David] [GENDER: MALE] [AGE: 25-30]
Dr. McDreamy is his nickname! Total player, but is madly in love with Susan, and when it comes to her he turns practically into mush. A young successful doctor who has everything: the degree, the nice car, the extravagant apartment.
[Mike] [GENDER: MALE] [AGE:32-45]
A pro at this whole fatherhood thing, but is a total drunk. Mike is a wise man for his age, and sort of a coach for the young men who are expecting, but you have to take everything he says with a grain of salt, he is a drunk after all.
[Phyllis] [GENDER: FEMALE] [AGE: 20-25]
The smoking hot bartender who runs Safe Haven’s Hospital Bar. When she is not serving up drinks, or singing, she does lamaze coaching. This comes in handy for the young men who come through Safe Haven’s Hospital Bar.
[Wendy] [GENDER: FEMALE] [AGE: 45-50]
Wendy is a very wealthy and over dramatic mother to Susan who is overjoyed to become a grandmother but deeply concerned that her daughter will be under cared for. She strongly urges her daughter to leave everything behind in Columbus and move back to Cincinnati where she will be well taken care of.
[Timothy] [GENDER: MALE] [AGE: 45-50]
Father to Susan, Timothy, like any father wants the best for his little girl. He comes off as very mean old grump to Joseph. He is a analytical thinker who is quick to forget that he was in the vary same position that Joseph is in when he was expecting Susan 25 years ago.
