Open Casting Call for Marvel’s “Ant-Man” at Pinewood Studios

Ant-Man is about to begin production at Pinewood Studios in the Atlanta area.

According to news reports the film is Marvel’s Ant-Man. An open casting call has just been announced for next Saturday. The casting will be held at Pinewood which is in the Atlanta area.

Marvel’s Ant-Man has been in development for years. Edgar Wright was going to helm the film originally but later dropped out.  Peyton Reed is now at the helm and moving forward with the project. Variety reports that there may not be reason for fans to fret over the recent change, because Marvel is sticking with its July 17, 2015 release date for the comic book based film, even after all the recent delays.

The Variety piece also mentioned that a source close to the film stated that “Ant-Man” will still be “very much in the spirit of what Edgar’s original pitch was and the entire template of the movie is what Edgar originally pitched eight years ago now.”  Ant-Man has a huge fan base and is one of Marvel’s iconic superheroes. Paul Rudd will be playing Ant-Man in the film. Michael Douglas and Corey Stoll are also cast in the film. IMDB reports the plot as follows….

“Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.”

Anyway, the film seems to be on track now and about to begin filming at Pinewood next week.  Extras casting directors have issued an open casting call for next Saturday. They are seeking various types and are especially interested in military types, business types, scientists and some ravers in their late teens(18+) to early 20’s.

“Ant-Man” is supposed to be hitting theaters next summer, 2015 and so far, Marvel is still sticking to that date.

Ant-Man fans, here is a shot to get in on the flick! The open call details are below and those interested can show up to have their photos taken for possible small roles in the new Marvel film.

OPEN CASTING CALL: New Life Casting is hosting an Open Casting Call on Saturday, August 16, 2014 from 10:00am until 5:00pm. The call will be held in the Studio Café in the Production Centre @ Pinewood Atlanta Studios on 503  Sandy Creek Road (previous address posted was 461 Sandy Creek Rd.)  in Fayetteville GA. Enter the building through the side entry in bus parking. Do not enter the studio lot. Come in through the side of the building [Veterans Parkway side of the Centre].

We are seeking all types of extras, ages 18 years and older. A few characters needed include: military, scientists, homeless, security and police types, business men and women, ravers 18-23.

Please bring your own pen and be prepared to have your picture taken and to complete a short form for our data base. Also, bring your headshot and resume if you have one.
