Feature Film holding Auditions for Lead and Supporting Roles – SAG scale pay

A film Starring Imogen Poots is now casting speaking roles in Smithville, TX

There is an open casting call scheduled for ‘A COUNTRY CALLED HOME’. Joining Poots in the cast are Mackenzie Davis and Ryan Bingham.

Imogen Poots (‘Need for Speed‘, ‘28 Weeks Later‘) will in a new comedy about a woman whose life gets shaken up by the news of her father’s death. She embarks on a journey that begins in a small Texas town that sets her path to redefine her life.

The film, “A Country Called Home” will be produced by Nicolas Gonda (“Tree of Life”) and directed by Anna Axster.

Anna Axster will direct from her own screenplay, which centers on a jaded young woman finding her world unexpectedly shaken by the news of her estranged father’s death — setting her off on a journey that starts in a small Texas town to redefine her path in life.

Ryan Bingham (“Crazy Heart”) will also be creating the sound track for the film.

The project is looking for people of all ages and ethnicities for various roles but is especially interested in young boys to the lead role of Tommy, a plus sized woman for a supporting role and older men and women for lead roles.

The casting call will consist of a short talk with a member of the casting team and possibly an interview on camera.

Seeking the following roles

• Adorable caucasian boy, age 4-5, for a lead role in a SAG feature! Please share this with anyone who might know a match. – For the role of “Tommy” we are looking for an adorable, creative, smart, sweet, outgoing, imaginative 4-5 year old boy who enjoys pretending. For story purposes, he need to be Caucasian with light or reddish hair. No previous experience is necessary.
• Plus size women, Caucasian, age 40-55 years old for a large supporting role. This character is likely 225 lbs – 400 lbs.
• Older men and women, Caucasian, age 75-85, for lead roles
