Extras for “Gotham” – new Warner Bros series now in production

Characters from the Batman comics are coming to FOX! FOX is now producing the highly anticipated TV series “Gotham” which will bring back some of our favorite characters including all those villains we love.
Gotham is created by Bruno Heller and FOX has ordered the show’s first season on a ‘straight to series’ order rather than going through the usual TV pilot process. The Warner Bros TV show is now in production of the 13 episodes that FOX has ordered.
“Gotham” will be directed by Danny Cannon(CSI). Bruno Heller (The Mentalist) is serving as the new show’s executive producer.
The series is described as “Gotham on the brink” and will be a cross between a police / crime series and a comic. Batman will not be its focus, Gordon will and the show will tell the tale of how Commissioner Gordon became who he is. It is set while Gordon is younger and not yet commissioner. IGN wrote a story about the new series plot which includes commentary from those involved.
“Gotham” is based on the DC Comics characters in their earlier days and will be more focused on the characters of James Gordon and Bruce Wayne. The show will also include the rise of some of the notorious criminals in Gotham which include the Penguin, the Riddler and Catwoman. Jada Pinkett Smith has been cast to play one of the villains. Jada will play Fish Mooney, a crime boss and nightclub owner known for her sadistic ways.

Ben McKenzie as James Gordon: an idealistic rookie detective for Gotham City Open Police Department’s Homicide Squad, a former college football star and a war hero.
Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth: a tough-as-nails ex-marine from East London, Pennyworth has loyally served the Wayne family. Now, in the wake of their tragic deaths, he’s fiercely protective of the young Bruce Wayne — the boy who will eventually become Batman.
Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot: the brains of a chess grandmaster and the morals of a jackal, Cobblepot is a low-level psychopath for gangster Fish Mooney, and hides his sadistic lust for power behind an exquisitely polite demeanor.
Zabryna Guevara as Captain Essen: Detective Gordon’s boss at the Gotham City Police Department Homicide Squad, she balances the two worlds of police and politics with a Machiavellian skill that’s as much corporate litigator as cop.
Erin Richards as Barbara Kean: a sophisticated emergency doctor, Kean stands by her husband amid the corrupt world of Gotham.
Donal Logue as Detective Harvey Bullock: Gordon’s rough-around-the-edges partner and mentor.
Jada Pinkett Smith as Fish Mooney: an imposing, hotheaded and notoriously sadistic gangster boss and nightclub owner with street smarts and almost extra-sensory abilities.
The role of young Bruce Wayne who eventually grows up to become Batman, is still auditioning actors (last reported)
