Paid Background extras wanted in Jackson Mississippi for “Get On Up!” which is currently filming in JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI.
The scene filming will be from 1962 and casting directors are seeking extras who can look like they belong in that period. Men who have short hair or are bald and women with natural hair that can be styled to look like a 1960’s hairstyle. They are seeking Caucasian and African American men and women who are 18 to 60 years old, please see the info below because it is actually 2 separate notices, one for Caucasian extras and another for African American extras.
Filming will take place next Tuesday mid day through nigh time. Please only apply if you are available to work through into the night. Also, casting directors are only looking for new faces, people who have not worked on this project. Extras casting is being handled by Tammy Smith Casting.
“Get On Up” is a James Brown biopic filming in Mississippi. The film covers over 3 decades of Brown’s life and has reported to be using thousands of extras through the production and filming process.
About the film:
The Universal Pictures film “Get On Up” will star Dan Aykroyd, Viola Davis, Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, Lennie James, and Chadwick Boseman as the Godfather of Soul, James Brown.

NOTE: We cannot use you again if you worked a smaller scene where we really saw you close up!
NOTE 1: Because of the period, we can only have men with shorter hair or bald, and women must have hair that is able to be styled for the 1960’s (not modern, etc…)
NOTE 2: Because of the costume sizes available for 1962, MEN cannot be bigger than a size 40 waist and WOMEN cannot be bigger than a size 14 dress size
NOTE 3: The scene will start midday and go until late at night around midnight or so, so you MUST be open the entire time. ALSO, please note that the night scene is an exterior scene, but it is a winter scene so you will have a coat on!!
