“Get On Up!” – JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI seeking extras for a 1968 Boston concert scene!
This project is filming in Jackson Mississippi and is seeking paid extras to work on the set of the new James Brown biopic, “Get on Up” that is currently filming there. Please only submit your information to the casting if you are local to the area and are available to work in Jackson, MI on the specified dates.
“Get On Up” is a James Brown biopic filming in Mississippi. The film covers over 3 decades of Brown’s life and has reported to be using thousands of extras through the production and filming process.
About the film:
The Universal Pictures film “Get On Up” will star Dan Aykroyd, Viola Davis, Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, Lennie James, and Chadwick Boseman as the Godfather of Soul, James Brown.
For next THURS and FRI, Jan 23rd AND 24th
We are looking to book the following paid extras:
AFRICAN AMERICAN MEN and WOMEN,
ages 18 to 60 to be extras for our last concert scene on the movie!!
The scene is a concert that took place in Boston in 1968- this is a 2 day booking! It’s a really fun scene with James Brown performing a very powerful concert!
AND if selected, we will need SOME of you to go on a fitting head of time for the costume, if you can.
The fittings are this Sunday (1/19), Monday (1/20) OR Tuesday (1/21)- the fittings are in Canton, and take about an hour and you only need to go one of those dates, IF possible.
NOTE 1: Because of the period, we can only have men with shorter hair , bald or possibly a few small afros, and women must have natural or relaxed hair only, with no weaves or wigs and you must be willing to take out braiding.
No dreadlocks.
NOTE 2: The scenes will start midday both days and go until late at night around 11pm or midnight or so., so you MUST be open the entire time. ALSO, please note that the scenes are INTERIOR scenes!
INCLUDE a CURRENT PHOTO- Please send a good face photo from the shoulders up, preferably with no other people in the picture and please avoid a photo with hats or sunglasses.
The photo should show your CURRENT HAIR style- no wigs please.
Then please List the following:
- NAME
- PHONE NUMBER (s)
- CITY and STATE where you live
- AGE
- Height
- Weight
- List Sizes
- Men::Jacket , Waist and shoe size
- Ladies: Bust/Bra size, Dress size and shoe size
After you list your sizes,
please write the following:
“AVAIL FITTING” if you are open for one of the fitting days to go for a fitting as well as the work dates
– OR –
“NO FITTING” if you are NOT available to go on a fitting ahead of time, but available for the work dates!
FILMING in JACKSON, MS – you must be able to work as a local in JACKSON, Mississippi
The pay rate is $64 for 8 hrs with O.T. after 8 hrs. FIttings pay $16
