KIDS FROM WISCONSIN 2015 AUDITIONS
Think of it as “American Idol” or “America’s Got Talent” for Wisconsin youth.
The Kids from Wisconsin showcase the most talented youth in a full musical revue for all ages, consisting of 20 singer/dancers and a 13 piece show band. The troupe performs inspiring, entertaining, musical productions to over 100,000 people each summer.
Applications are available at KidsFromWisconsin.org, and are now being accepted for eligibility. Auditions will be held February 6th through February 8th across Wisconsin for talented youth ages 15-20.
The Kids from Wisconsin is part of an entertainment tradition that goes back nearly 50 years to its beginnings as a musical production created for Wisconsin’s talented youth back in 1969 to be show cased at the Wisconsin State Fair. Some call them the “original GLEE”.
Performing live annually for more than 100,000 across Wisconsin and the Midwest, the Kids from Wisconsin present top of the line entertainment with some of Wisconsin’s most talented performers ages 15-20. The show is produced in collaboration with some of the country’s best writers, arrangers, and choreographers. Costumes are designed and created in Broadway style, adding to the already exciting performance.
A broad repertoire of music includes the American classics, big band, 50’s through the 80’s, country, Broadway and current top hits, filling a two hour, fully staged performance.
The KIDS perform at state and county fairs, community concerts, fundraisers for non-profit organizations such as the Rotary, Lions, Kiwanis and other organizations, helping them to earn thousands of dollars for their organizations cause, and at the same time support Wisconsin’s performing arts.
The Kids from Wisconsin, to this day, maintain a large presence at the Wisconsin State Fair with performances twice daily on a main stage.
Today, the pride and passion that fueled that early music lives on through a Kids from Wisconsin performance.
