Austin Texas Movie Extras
Another open call has been scheduled for the football feature film “My All American” in the Austin TX area of Smithville.
Those that would like to become extras in the movie can come down to the Smithville Recreation Center (see map below) on Monday the 12th between 2 and 8 PM to meet with casting directors. The film is looking to fill many background roles including students, coaches, cheerleaders and others that may be present at a football game. You must be a Texas resident and at least 18 years of age to be considered for the roles.
Brock / Allen Casting will be conducting the event and all roles are paid.
According to Deadline, “My All American” will star Aaron Eckhart. Aaron Eckhart plays coach Darrell Royal and Finn Wittrock. The part of football player, Freddie Steinmark will be played by Finn Wittrock. The film is based on Steinmark’s outstanding performance in 1969 on the Texas football team. . The film is directed by Angelo Pizzo, writer and producer of “Rudy” and “Hoosiers.”
My All American is a feature film based on a true story about UT legend and the Freddie Steinmark 1969 National Champion Longhorns, directed by Angelo Pizzo, a writer and producer known for Hoosiers and Rudy. The film takes us through Freddie’s life as a young scrappy player on his High School football team in Wheat Ridge Colorado, his transition to an inspirational and driving force as a Longhorn at UT, and his eventual losing battle with a cancerous tumor in 1971 that was discovered after a bone bruise.
The film will be shooting this spring & summer from May through July.
Open casting call for paid background extras on Monday, May 12, from 2-8 p.m. at the Smithville Rec Center, 106 Royston St. Extras needed include: students (ages 18-26), coaches, parents, grandparents, cheerleaders, sideline football players and people with vehicles from the late 1960s.
All positions paid. Guaranteed $58 for eight hours of work. Additional overtime pay will apply. All you have to do is show up to be considered.
“My All American,” will be filming in Austin, San Antonio, Smithville and Elgin this May-July. This film chronicles the life of former University of Texas football player Freddie Steinmark and the National Championship Texas team of 1969.
