Extras in Louisiana
A new film starring Laura Marano and other Disne’y channel stars is holding an open casting call TODAY! Laura Marano is on Disney Channel’s “Austin & Ally.” The film will also feature Katherine McNamara from “Kicking It,” and Shayne Topp, from “So Random.”
Those interested in being an extra on the set can come on down to the open call which is being held at Staybridge Hotel at 128 E. Kaliste Saloom Road in Lafayette between 4 PM and 8 PM. Today. You must be 18 or older to be cast in the film and you should bring a recent photo of yourselves that you can leave with the film’s casting directors.
The film, “A Sort of Homecoming,” is written by Lynn Reed who is also a Lafayette native. The movie is being produced by Believe Entertainment. The film is about a woman, Amy Harrigan who returns to her hometown many years later to see her high school debate team coach who really inspired her in her youth and is now dying. Her trip triggers old memories of her time in Louisiana and some events that changed her life such as the disappearance of her boyfriend and debate team partner.
The film tells her story through flashbacks to her high school days and time on the debate team.
But Amy’s strained reunion with Annie triggers memories of the life-altering events Amy experienced during her senior year of high school — events that culminated in the unexplained disappearance of her debate partner and first love, Nick Stevenson.
The Hollywood Reporter recently stated “The film will see Rose (McNamara) befriend Amy (Marano) in the coming of age story featuring debate.”
The film will be shooting in and around the Lafayette area this winter and maybe early spring 2014. For more info on production you can see the movies webpage.
