Open Casting Call in NY for “The Nest” with Tina Fey / Amy Poehler and other projects

By | May 3, 2014

There will be an open call for extras on this coming Monday for NYC residents who would like to be background extras. The open call will be hosted by New York City casting directors at Grant Wilfley in Manhattan.

GW Casting is looking for people to fill various roles in 2 upcoming movies and an HBO show. The projects listed are Universal’s “Trainwreck“, an HBO show directed by Martin Scorsese referred to as a “Rock & Roll Project” set in the 70’s and another Universal film, “The Nest“.

Seems that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will be doing another movie together, Universal’s “The Nest”. “The Nest” will be directed by Jason Moore (“Pitch Perfect“). Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will not only be acting in the comedy, but both will also be producing.

In “The Nest“, the 2 funny ladies will play sisters who move in together after getting kicked out of their parents home. The pair decide to throw a big bash which we can all assume turns chaotic.

This will be the 3rd film together. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler starred in the film “Mean Girls” together in 2004 and in 2008, they were both in “Baby Mama.” The two had also previously worked on SNL together from 2001 to 2006.

The film will begin production in New York beginning in June.
