Play Reading Casting Actors in DC

Play reading being held Saturday, December 13 auditioning actors! $50 cash stipend for those who perform on the night. The evening will consist of several one act plays which are a mix of comedy and family drama. Most actors will be cast in more than one role, so you get a chance to show your range. This is the debut of a new theater company and you can expect future opportunities. This will be a fun evening in a cool location!

I have experience in the industry and know how important it is that actors be equitably treated, have awesome direction, fun camaraderie and a professional working environment.

This is a non-union project. Please review the breakdown below and submit your headshot and resume. 

Note that you do not have to be the exact age and race of the types listed below. We are looking for the general feel of these types from the actors we see.

One acts theater company DC

1. Caucasian Females, Age Range 50-60
There are a couple of roles for this age range including the mother of young adults and a nurse.

2. Caucasian Males, Age Range 25-45
Caucasian males needed for several comedic roles and a strong, romantic lead.

3. Latina Females, Age Range 25-35
Soft, sweet and beautiful with a quiet intelligence. Roles include a woman who is caught between her husband and a couple they are friends with.

4. Caucasian Females, Age Range 25-40
Ability to give an emotional performance key. Roles available include a woman in New York who is offered help from a stranger with the most challenging life decision she’s ever had.

5. Native American Males, Age Range 25-40
Emotional depth a must. Deeply intelligent. Carries a darkness that has made him confused about his life.

6. African American Males, Age Range, 40-70
Role is an interesting and funny man who is trying to serve the world in his own, unique way. Comedic timing a must.

7. Native American Males, Age Range 50-70
Able to portray a range of emotions in silence. The main role is a father who needs his family around him to assist in a major transition.

8. Native American Females, Age Range: 50-60 Bubbly and self-assured. Loving mother and wife.
