Royal Caribbean Cruises is coming to Toronto to hold auditions for urban, hip hop dancers.
The production is seeking both male and female dancers who have excellent technique and are highly skilled at contemporary dance styles as well as urban styles. The production is particularly interested in dancers who also have tumbling skills.
Please note that this is not an open call. Auditions are by appointment only and interested dancers can follow the below instructions to request an audition slot. Auditions will be held this coming Friday, the 19th at Canada’s National Ballet School in Toronto, Ontario. The auditions are for a new show which is created by Royal Caribbean and the Moment Factory to run on its newest cruise ship, “The Anthem of the Seas”. Those cast in the production will receive accommodations on board ship as well as a monthly salary. Rehearsals for the show start in early 2015 in sunny Florida and air travel to Florida for the rehearsals will also be provided.

Dancers: Commercial Contemporary/Urban
Seeking dancers from 18 – 30yrs versatility in all styles.
“Good sense of rhythm, a love for gettin’ down”.

MALES: Contemporary technique and excellent technique in one or more of urban styles: House, new jack swing, hip-hop, breaking. Ability to execute either: power moves, capoeira, jumps or basic tumbling is a plus.
FEMALES: Contemporary technique as well as foundation training in at least one of the following urban styles: House, new jack swing, hip hop or breaking. Ability to execute either: power moves, jumps or basic tumbling is a plus.
IMP: For Audition: please have 1-2 min freestyle ready perform for improv that will demonstrate your technique in the above styles as well as learning a combination.
Salary for performers: $3,200/month including rehearsal month
Shared Accommodations on ship
Rehearsals – FEB/16/15 – MARCH/22/15 (Miami Florida) (flight and accommodation covered)
Contract – MARCH/23/15 – OCT/11/15 (on ship)
Everything on ship is paid for and non-Americans get a tax break as ships are on international seas.
