“Fathers and Daughters,” is the newest movie coming to Pittsburgh. The film put together a star studded cast which includes Oscar winning actress Octavia Spencer, Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul, Russel Crowe (Gladiator), Diane Kruger (Inglorious Basterds), Quvenzhané Wallis (Beasts of the Southern Wild)and Amanda Seyfried.
The film is being produced by Voltage Productions and is set to begin filming in a few weeks. Gabriele Muccino is directing “Fathers and Daughters.”
The Pittsburgh film office has announced that casting auditions have begun for smaller speaking roles, featured extras and background extras in the Pittsburgh area.
Octavia Spencer plays the head of a psych clinic where Amanda Seyfried works. The film is about patients at that clinic as well as the people around them. Russel Crowe plays a single father who became a single father after his wife’s death in a car accident and Diane Krugar will play his dead wife’s sister who places blame on him over her sister’s death. Amanda Seyfried is Russell’s daughter in the film and the film will go back and forth between the 80’s when his wife died and present day.
The local CBS site has reported that Crews will begin production on the movie “Fathers and Daughters” starting on March 14. And the Nancy Mosser Casting group put out a local casting call.
They say many extras will be needed for “some very fun scenes.”
The casting agency says they’ll soon begin the search for stand-ins, photo-doubles and featured extras.
