Spanish Speaking Actor Wanted in Seattle For Online Video Project – Paid

By | December 5, 2014

Spanish-speaking math coach for online math facts website (XtraMath.org)

Location: Seattle, WA

Type: Educational

Our Seattle-based, non-profit company, XtraMath (www.XtraMath.org), is looking for a local, native Spanish-speaking actor, male or female, to appear in our online videos as the math coach — a character known as “Mr. C.” As you can see from the videos of our English-speaking math coach at https://vimeo.com/84994452, Mr. C is a friendly, open, approachable teacher who explains to students how to use the website and encourages them in their progress.

The videos will be seen by millions of kids in the United States and around the world, and will inspire many to higher math achievement.

We are looking for someone who is:

male or female, 25-45 years old
a native Spanish speaker with neutral accent
comfortable in front of the camera
has the poise of a friendly, experienced teacher

Filming will take place in our offices in West Seattle in mid-January and will require approximately 2-3 days to complete.

Compensation: $500.

The “audition” will consist of a very short video of the actor reading the following script. The easiest way to send a video is by using a smartphone and sharing it directly with me via email, jennifer@xtramath.org. Alternately, you can upload a video to YouTube and send me a link. Here are some sample instructions: http://www.wikihow.com/Upload-a-Video-to-YouTube. We recommend the “unlisted” privacy option. Either way is fine. We promise not to share your video with anyone else.

Script:

Filming instructions:

Please shoot a video of yourself from the waist up in front of a white or light colored wall.
For those of you filming from your smartphone, please hold your device horizontally (landscape).
Don’t worry about the video or audio quality—we just want to get a sense of what you are like in front of a camera.
Write the script on an easel or whiteboard positioned behind the camera so that you can read it while filming. Or feel free to perform the script from memory.
We are looking for a candidate who can convey a similar friendly, approachable, and supportive personality as displayed in the original videos.

Please send us your video by Wednesday, 12/17. If you have further questions, do not hesitate to email me or give me a call at 206-297-8573.

Sincerely,
Jennifer Truluck
