Speaking Roles for AMC’s New Series ‘TURN’

The new AMC drama ‘Turn‘ is filming it’s final episode for the 1st season of the show which will premiere on AMC in a few weeks. The drama is set in the 1700’s during the period of the Revolutionary war. It depicts the unlikely spy ring, called the Culper Ring, made up of young men who help turn the tides of the war.

The last episode for this season will be filming in central Virginia in mid March. Filming will begin on the 17th and those interested for the speaking parts need to apply ASAP.

Please only apply if you fot the role descriptions below and are available in Virginia for filming. This is a SAG-Aftra project that shoots in the Richmond, VA area.

Casting directors at Arvold Casting are looking to find actors who look like they may be from the time period of the Revolutionary war. The look of the time was hair on the longer side and clean shaven.

Set in the summer of 1778, show tells the story of New York farmer, Abe Woodhull, who bands together with a group of childhood friends to form The Culper Ring, an unlikely group of spies who turn the tide in America’s fight for independence.

 

Speaking roles:

COLONEL FLOYD – 40’s, Caucasian. As a British officer, Colonel Floyd answers a distress call, confident he can save the day. Willingness to be clean shaven and authentic British accent required. CO-STAR

WILLIAM BLAINE – 30’s – 40’s, Caucasian. A father out for some early morning fishing with his son inadvertently stumbles upon a dangerous secret. Willingness to be clean shaven required. The accent should have a British flavor to it, somewhere between an English and an American accent, reminding us that the colonies were still very tied to England and that these families had only been here for a few generations. CO-STAR

TOM BLAINE – Early to Late Teen’s, Caucasian. A son out with his father for an early morning fishing trip must suddenly flee for his life on a horse. Ability to ride a horse and willingness to be clean shaven required. The accent should have a British flavor to it, somewhere between an English and an American accent, reminding us that the colonies were still very tied to England and that these families had only been here for a few generations. CO-STAR

BRITISH CORPORAL – 20’s – 30’s, Caucasian. British soldier who is called upon to deliver important information. Willingness to be clean shaven and authentic British accent required. CO-STAR

BRITISH SERGEANT – 30’s – 40’s, Caucasian. Calls out the orders to the cannon teams as they prepare to fire. Willingness to be clean shaven and authentic British accent required. CO-STAR

TURN is based on the novel written by Alexander Rose called Washington’s Spies.

The series is about Revolutionary War soldiers who are part of a spy ring. during the war.

Turn” is one of 2 new drama series that AMC has in production, the other is “Halt and Catch Fire“ (which is also currently filming and has been releasing casting notices on a regular basis).

The show is written by Craig Silverstein and directed by Rupert Wyatt.
