Disney Studios, Star Wars is about to begin filming

The highly anticipated Star Wars film is about to begin production in the UK and it seems that extras casting is underway.

The Disney movie will be needing extras for Star Wars – ages teens to adults.

Great news for Star Wars fans, it seems filming of Star Wars VII is about to begin in the UK. The Disney Company / LucasFilm will be filming Star Wars 7 this spring and summer in the UK. According to Collider, principal photography is beginning on the 14th of this month and casting directors in the UK’s Casting Collective are now actively casting extras, background and maybe even some featured spots in the newest Star Wars film.

This is a UK casting call and extras will have to prove that they are eligible to legally work in the UK. Specifically, it seems they are looking for people who can get to BEDFORDSHIRE, HERTFORDSHIRE, BUCKINGHAMSHIRE, CAMBRIDGESHIRE, NORTHAMPTONSHIRE and London.

They are looking for general extras who are legally able to work in London that are ages 16 and up. All types are needed but they are especially interested in people with character faces and young adults. By character types, they mean…

People who have very interesting looks such as character faces, memorable eye-catching looks, unusual type looks. This could be people with strong physical features, facial scars, big beards, long hair, bad teeth, large facial features, dreadlocks, or interesting ethnic appearance such as darker skin and light eyes.

Extras casting calls for Star Wars Episode VII is underway. For those who live in the UK this may be a great opportunity and for hard core fans, a dream come true since they have an opportunity to appear in the the new Disney film. Disney acquired Lucasfilm some time back and will be behind the new Star Wars films. Last week there were some casting announcements which stated that Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill were all on board with the new film and will somehow be a part of it. J.J. Abrams will be helming the new Star Wars project and while there isn’t much news about the plot, we do know that the film will be grittier and a bit dirtier than the previous 3.

There seem to be quite a few different casting notices for specific looks, for example:

Real Sailors, Fishermen and Navy/Marine men wanted for Major new Feature Film
We are looking for men of all ages and all ethnicities who have real ‘nautical’ experience.
You must be physically fit & active
Filming is between May and September in and around London, Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire.
All applicants must have a valid NI number and be legally allowed to work in the UK
