Stephen King’s Horror Film “Cell” casting skateboarders in Atlanta

The new film ‘Cell‘ is now filming in Atlanta. The film’s screenplay is written by Adam Alleca and Stephen King. ‘Cell‘ is based on the novel by Stephen King. The film’s cast includes Samuel L. Jackson, Isabelle Fuhrman and John Cusack.

The film is about a mysterious cell phone that ends up creating an apocalyptic chaos. During this chaos, an artist is determined to find his son. The mysterious cell phone signal somehow turns most humans into mindless creatures…. yes, this is Stephen King, so this is a horror film.

This film has actually been in the works for years. Talks about the film began in ’07 and in ’09 Stephen King announced that he had finished the screenplay, however, later he stated that he would be re-working some of it.  In 2012, it was announced that actor John Cusack will play the lead role of Clayton Riddell.  Later, Samuel L. Jackson joined the cast and will play the role of Tom McCourt.

The Stephen King novel was published in 2006 and the film is set for a 2015 release date.

About the film:
Clayton Riddell, a struggling artist from Maine, has just landed a graphic novel deal in Boston when “The Pulse”, a signal sent out over the global cell phone network, suddenly turns every cell phone user into a mindless zombie-like killer. Clay is standing in Boston Common when the Pulse hits, causing chaos to erupt around him. Civilization crumbles as the “phoners” attack each other and any unaltered people in view.

Atlanta based casting directors have released the following casting call, they are seeking skateboarders.
