“Red Band Society” Extras Call
Season one of FOX’s new show, “The Red Band Society” is in production in the Atlanta area.
The show is looking to fill some featured and non-featured roles for a scene that will be filming this coming Friday. The roles will be picture picked by the directors so be sure to submit ASAP if interested. The series is seeking people for a court room scene and needs talent to play sheriffs, bailiffs, lawyers. clerks, clients and some thugs. The show is also looking to book a Hispanic family for the show.
“The Red Band Society” is about a group of very sick children who are all stuck living in the pediatric wing of a hospital. The new series recently premiered on FOX but is still shooting new episodes for the first season. Academy Award winner Octavia Spenser stars as Nurse Jackson, a “tell it like it is”…. “take no lip”… and dare not piss off type of nurse who is in charge of the wing where the children all live. The main cast includes Octavia Spencer as Nurse Jackson, Dave Annable, Ciara Bravo, Griffin Gluck, Zoe Levin, Rebecca Rittenhouse, Charlie Rowe, Nolan Sotillo, and Astro.
The project is being produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television and ABC Studios. “The Red Band Society” is based on a Spanish language show, “Polseres Vermelles“, created by Albert Espinosa. The series draws on Espinosa’s actual childhood experiences. While the premise may seem depressing, the coming of age story is described as funny and uplifting.
The show is set in Los Angeles’ Ocean Park Hospital (yet films in Atlanta) and explores the friendships made by these kids who are facing what may be the fight of their lives. The show is narrated by Charlie, a young patient who is in a coma.
