Would you like a vacation house for free? The HGTV series is now casting people looking for that perfect vacation home.
Those cast on the show would get some help from Matt Blashaw in getting that great vacation home and finding that perfect diamond in the rough that would pay for itself and end up being free. The show is casting couples nationwide but is especially interested in those who are looking for a place in a warmer climate. So if you are ready to take that leap and aren’t afraid of getting your hands a bit dirty…. read on.
About the show:
Matt Blashaw realizes couples’ wishes to own a vacation home mortgage free. The secret? He helps them shop for and renovate a “diamond in the rough” home in their dream location to command top dollar as a vacation rental. The end result? The couple rents out the renovated home for maximum income part of the year, covering all their annual expenses. For the rest of the year they live in a Vacation House for Free!
Casting directors for the series are now casting for season two of Vacation House For Free. We are seeking vacation home buyers who aren’t afraid of properties that need work!
Properties on the show would be in need of updating and renovation and have values up to about $600,000. Ideal candidates are outgoing, creative, and would set aside around $30,000 to start their renovations. If candidates are selected, the show would supplement that budget to ensure a fabulous finish!
We are looking for couples and families interested in lake homes, mountain homes, getaway homes in popular vacation destinations and even second homes in small charming cities (think Savannah, Ga., or Santa Fe, N.M.). We are especially interested warm-weather beach towns and the great vacation properties you can find there! Shooting will start during winter 2014, so spots that feature less extreme weather are ideal; however we will consider any vacation destination location in the United States (or possibly foreign location) that is truly fabulous!
Participants will work with our producers and host to find and make a property of their dreams into a “home away from home” and one that potential renters will scramble to book for their vacations. I love your show! We live north of Milwaukee and warm vacation weather is a much needed relief from the great white north. 🙂
We are looking at homes that need renovations to become a rental/vacation spot in the caribbean. We have already found one we are very interested in, and have the funding available if needed. This home could serve as a getaway for family and friends for years to come. Our children are now scattered across the country, so it would be a great gathering spot we can all enjoy.
We are very handy, ambitious empty nesters that have flipped homes before, but this is a whole new territory. We work on our flipper homes after our full time jobs on weeknights and weekends, therefore, a home that far away would not make it possible for us to do that.
We are always busy so vacation time is treasured.
