I’m having auditions for my upcoming short film, “Pointe Shoes”
Not for pay, but actors will receive copy, credit, and free meals for the day.
SHOOTING DATE: Monday, November 9 from 9am-4pm (can work around class schedule) on campus.
SYNOPSIS: Rachel, a promising ballet student, is part of one of the best dance schools in the country who ends up paying the money she owes by selling her grandmother’s antique pointe shoes.
CHARACTERS:
Rachel (late teens/early 20’s, female): A promising ballerina who is determined to reach her dream of becoming a prima ballerina just like her grandmother. Comes from an underprivileged background. Has a dance sequence at the end of the film.
Franz/Francia (20’s-30’s, male or female): Rachel’s dance instructor. Believes in Rachel but has to lay down the law when it comes to the school’s payments. No dancing required but must look somewhat athletic.
AUDITIONS: Sunday, November 2 from 3-6 pm in the dance studio on the second floor of the Burns Fine Arts Center. Be prepared to show a few ballet moves and read a few lines from the script. Those auditioning for Rachel should wear dance attire, and bring pointe shoes if they have them (though not required). A headshot and resume are helpful, but not required!
