Type: General Performers
Casting experienced actors who are willing to work in spontaneously improvised roles and contribute creative input for artist film, “Choreographing Empathy”.
Type: Film & future potential for live stage performance
This is a gesture-based acting role. We are interested in shifting focus to the preparatory rituals before and after a director calls ‘action.’ You will explore the somatic and psychological transition into traumatic roles and perform a variety of warm-up and cool-down exercises to transition from character to actor that alleviate boundary blurring, emotional hangover, and “post-dramatic stress.” In addition, the film will explore rituals of care through actions of domination and submission.
Auditions will be held in Greenpoint, Brooklyn between 10am-8pm December 18th – 20th
Shooting begins as soon as possible after auditions. Dates flexible. Pay = $100/day + food
There is potential for a future performance in front of a live audience.
