Let’s Rock! Seeking Actors to Join a Special Team for The Ghosts of Rock!
A Rock Musical TOUR – Loosely Based on “A Christmas Carol” Format. Performances will take place on December 18th, 19th – Macon, Georgia and March 4th, 5th – Marietta, Georgia
Auditions will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2:30PM, Decatur, GA with callbacks on Tuesday, September 15, 7PM. Marietta, GA. Rehearsals will take place on November 9 – December 17.
It’s 1980 and Rock is in Trouble! Rock Gods (Jimi Hendrix, etc.) look down and see rock peril with the coming of the 80s electric pop scene. Case and point – the Bell Bottoms, a Very talented but misguided boy band being driven by the corporate music machine. The Rock gods decide to do something about it before it’s too late. They send in “The Ghosts of Rock”. The Bell Bottoms are visited by 3 ghosts of rock: past, present and future. They merge with the spirits of blues and rock legends, and take a fast-track to the musical mileage they desperately need. The question is, will they be inspired to enough to break away from the corporate music machine Choose to Save Rock?!

This is going to be a funny show filled with great music! Please be prepared to list conflicts for proposed rehearsal and tech dates and times. Some of the roles below require singing, dancing or guitar! These are indicated in the Character List Below!
CHARACTER LIST:
Dustin Weaver (Male, Age 17-25): Must be able to sing – (Phrases within dialogue, not a whole song!)!
Bellbottoms Band Lead Vocalist – “Justin Bieber” type. Very talented, young, good looking. All the makings of a rock star, but on the wrong, poppy path. Currently straight-laced. A little gullible, ignorant to blues and rock history.
Coy George (Male, Age 17-25): Must play Some guitar!
Bellbottoms lead guitar player – Same stereotype as Dustin, but a little rougher around the edges. A little more inclined to rock than Dustin, but very loyal to Dustin.
Ghost of Rock Present, Ted (Male, Age 21-50):
A “Spicoli” Type. California surfer-rocker. Very likeable. Personifies the rock and roll lifestyle. Lives it to a fault. Passionate, Emotional and transparent. The rock crisis is his fault and he’s devastated and will do anything to save rock.
Theman Schwartz (Male, Age 30-60):
“The Man” The bad guy. Personification of all that’s wrong with corporate music. The Man. He’s an 80’s “suit” type. No taste for good rock and roll. He’s a bad – 80’s suit guy. Terrible 80’s hair-do. He’s a money loving miser geek that no one likes. Jealous of Dustin and Coy’s talent and looks.
Joelly Davis: (Femaile, Age 18-25) Must be able to really dance!
The ultimate, big haired 80s Valley Girl Type. Hot, young, but not a lot of brains. Dustin’s Girlfriend. Loves to dance. Uses a lot of “Don’t have a cow, man” type of vernacular.
Meredith Davis: (Female, Age 18-25) Must be able to really dance!
Just like Joelly, but Coy’s Girlfriend.
