American Crime is now in production in Austin Texas and there is a new casting call out for paid extras.
ABC’s ‘American Crime’ season 2 is filming in Austin Texas and will be holding an open casting call this coming Tuesday. The show is in need of athletes to play basketball players on an upcoming episode of the show.
‘American Crime‘ is created by John Riddley (12 Years a Slave). The new ABC series focuses on racial tensions in a town following a brutal crime. The show is set in central California where a brutal attack on a young married couple leaves the husband dead and stirs up tensions across racial lines after the crime and through the trial.
John Ridley’s new TV project takes on the heavy topic of racial tension in America. The story is examined through the lives of the people involved in the trial and in the community. Ridley wrote the script and is also acting as the shows executive producer. Also producing the series is former ABC Studios exec Michael McDonald.

We are in need of athletes to portray High School Basketball Players in AMERICAN CRIME Season 2
For the 2nd season of American Crime, the story will center around high school basketball players. There will be a need for practices in lieu of rehearsal for games taking place on camera in multiple episodes as well as other scenes on set featuring the players in the school, in locker rooms, at parties, etc.
Athletes will need to try out for the basketball team. Once players are selected there could be additional opportunities for principal speaking roles on the show.
Players must be already graduated from high school, but look High School Age. Players must also have completed their high school or collegiate athletic careers. Anyone still participating in UIL or NCAA programs should not try out. Athletes will be compensated for playing basketball on the show which will equate to being paid athletes and is a violation of UIL and NCAA policies.
