Casting Call for Tom Cruise Movie “Mena” in Atlanta

Tom Cruise’s new film “Mena” is beginning production in the Atlanta area and has released arush  casting call for extras

The film is looking for male talent to fill a few different roles in scenes filming this week in the Atlanta area.

According to the projects IMDB page, “Mena” is about a pilot who lands work for the CIA as a drug runner in the deep south during the 1980s. “Mena” will be directed by Doug Liman and is written by newcomer Gary Spinelli. Reports state that Universal was impressed with the script, even though Spinelli only has a single credit to his name (“Stash House) and paid $1 million to get the rights to the story.  Tom Cruise, Jayma Mays and Sarah Wright will star in the film. The movie is being produced by Cross Creek Pictures and Imagine Entertainment. Tom Cruise and Doug Liman worked on Universal Pictures “Edge of Tomorrow” together and “Mena”  will reunite the pair in another Universal Pictures film.

According to THR the story revolves around Seal who was fired as a pilot for TWA when he got exposed as also being a drug smuggler for the cartel. During the Iran Contra scandal, he gets recruited by the CIA to help provide intelligence. The film is set in the 80’s when United States government officials sold arms to Iran even though there was an embargo.

The film is seeking to fill quite a few roles in a scene filming tomorrow.
