Deaf Actors Wanted in Maryland for Paid Theater Show

MET – Maryland Ensemble Theater is looking to cast deaf and hard of hearing actors for Tribes by Nina Raine.

The show will premiere in March of 2016 and rehearsals are set to begin in January 2016 at the Maryland Ensemble Theater in Frederick.

Seeking Deaf Actor-Casting for the play Tribes by Nina Raine at Maryland Ensemble Theatre
Non-union, paid stipend.

Casting all roles:

Billy: Looking for a deaf or hard of hearing (HOH) actor that can play between ages 18-25, who is fluent in ASL and spoken English. This character, Billy, is very unique in that he will have to communicate by two different methods, ASL and spoken English with other characters onstage.

Sylvia: Looking for a hearing or hard of hearing (HOH) actress who can sign ASL fluently and who can play between ages 18-25.

Rehearsals begin the first week of January and production dates are Feb. 11-March 6. There are 16 performances, running Thursday thru Sundays at Maryland Ensemble Theatre, 31 W. Patrick St., Frederick, MD 21701
