DreamWorks Live Action Feature “A Dog’s Purpose” Holding Open Casting Call in CA

Winnipeg residents have a chance to get cast in a small part for DreamWorks Pictures “A Dog’s Purpose“.

A Dog’s Purpose” will be a live action, family movie. The film is based on W. Bruce Cameron’s New York Times bestseller of the same name. “A Dog’s Purpose” cast includes Dennis Quaid, Peggy Lipton and Britt Robertson.

An open casting call is coming up for talent of all ages… Casting kids, teens, adults and seniors.

A Dog’s Purpose” will be using 1000’s of paid extras and is looking to fill other small roles as well. The film begins production in the Winnipeg area this month and will continue filming through October. Anyone wanting to try out for a small role can come on down to Fairmont Winnipeg this coming Sunday between the hours of 10:30 AM and 3:30 PM. No appointment is necessary.

Dreamworks "A Dog's Purpose" open casting call

Casting directors are looking for “wholesome, friendly-looking people, both male and female, of all ages and ethnic background to play as regular town folk, students, families, moms, dads, kids, grandmas, and grandpas.” Casting directors for the project will also be needing real police and fire fighters, real clowns, teen football players and football coaches. “A Dog’s Purpose” is set across 4 different decades, the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, so they will interested in talent with natural, timeless looks that can easily fit into any of those decades.

All roles are paid and extras hired for the roles will make $11.75 an hour. Most extras are expected to work one or two days on set. Some roles, such as stand-ins, may require longer time commitments. No previous acting experience is required.

A Dog’s Purpose” – This is the remarkable story of one endearing dog’s search for his purpose over the course of several lives. More than just another charming dog story, A Dog’s Purpose touches on the universal quest for an answer to life’s most basic question: Why are we here?

Open Casting Call in Winnipeg:
Sunday the 9th, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the Fairmont Winnipeg at 2 Lombard Place.

WHEN: SUNDAY, August 9th, 2015 (1 day only)

WHERE: The Fairmont Winnipeg, 2 Lombard Place

TIME: 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (Drop-in anytime between these hours)

You can bring a recent snapshot of yourself along with your application form or resume. They will also take your pictures at the open call.
