Casting call for lots of paid extras in GA

James Franco’s new film, “In Dubious Battle” has a casting call out for extras ages 18 to 75 to work around the Atlanta area. James Franco is directing the film as well as starring in it. Franco has lined up a major A list cast which include Bryan Cranston, Selena Gomez, Ed Harris, Robery Duvall, Vincent D’Onofrio, Josh Hutcherson, Christian Slater, Sam Shepard and Danny McBride.

“In Dubious Battle” is based on the John Steinbeck novel about a mane (Played by Franco) who tried to unionize fruit pickers. It is set in the 1930’s, in a fictional region of California.

Casting directors with Tammy Smith have a call out for local talent to work as extras on set. There is also another call out for stand-ins. James Franco’s “In Dubious Battle” begins filming on the 18th and will be shooting in the Bostwick, Senoia and Duluth areas of Georgia. The new film is seeking Caucasian extras between the ages 18 to 75. The film is set in the 30’s so extras should have a natural look. Men applying should be open to getting a 1930’s hair cut if needed and ladies must have natural hair colors, hair of any length is OK though. Extras applying for the gig must be willing to drive to the filming locations at their own expense. Bostwick is about an hour East of the Atlanta area and Senoia is about an hour south of GA.

In Dubious Battle is a 1936 novel by John Steinbeck. The central figure of the story is an activist for “the Party” (thought to be the communist party, though it is never specifically named in the novel) who is organizing a major strike by fruit pickers and looking to get more people involved in his cause. The book focuses on a fight between labor and capital in 1930?s California, a fictional area of California. “In Dubious Battle” explores themes that Steinbeck explored in future work as well, group behavior, social injustice, man’s inhumanity to man. Franco will play Jim Nolan, a man who gets involved in the movement and its organization.

Casting extras to play middle class townspeople in the 1930’s.

Important Notes

It films in Bostwick, Senoia and Duluth, GA
Filming is 3/18 thru April 12th (filming a Wed-Sun work week)

These types will be selected for a few of the days within those work dates, with some of the men being featured as well!
– MEN will be more clean cut and should be open to a 1930’s hair cut if needed and facial hair (beards, and mustaches, etc…) are great!
– WOMEN should have natural hair colors (and all lengths are ok) and NO acrylic nails please .

SIZES: Due to available costume sizes in the period (1930’s), these types can be as follows, MEN: size 38 – 46 jacket, WOMEN: size 0 to 12 dress size.
Pay rate is $64 for 8 hrs with O.T. after that.
You must be willing to work in either the Bostwick or Senioa or Duluth area (please list which ones you are ok with , as instructed below)

“BIG HEART” NOTE: This is a movie being done as low budget – every single person working on the movie, including all of actors cast in ALL of the roles, and all of the crew are working on this film for much less than we normally make, as we are all doing this to get this movie made. It’s an amazing script and an important story. Please google search for it and we hope as many of you as possible will want to be a part of it. We know some of these locations are far, and we will be very grateful for your participation for the basic extras pay on this one! ALL of the extras are very important in this film, as the story is about the PEOPLE!
