Extras Casting Call for Empire Season 2 – Musicians, Empire Employees & More

Would you love to work at Empire Entertainment… well, pretend to? 

“Empire”  season 2 just began filming in the Chicago area and there is a new casting call out for some Recurring / core extras.

The show’s extras casting directors , 4 Star, are looking for background actors to play Empire employees, A & R folks, bouncers, police and musicians. For the musicians roles, they are seeking REAL musicians to play musicians on the show… not to actually perform or play any music. The roles may be recurring and talent applying must have a pretty flexible schedule to be able to work multiple days if needed on very short notice. Talent applying must be local to the Chicago area since filming schedules change often and notice to work may be as little as a few hours.

The FOX music oriented drama focuses on Lucius Lyon, a Hip-hop artist, founder and CEO of Empire Entertainment. After receiving a devastating medical diagnosis which estimates Lucius will be incapacitated in a matter of years, he is forced to begin seeking his successor to the business he built. In line for succession are Lucius’s 3 sons but he feels none of them can actually fill his shoes successfully. Complicating the matter is the appearance of his ex-wife, Cookie. She took a fall for him years back and has her eyes set on his throne as well.

We are looking for people who have good availability to work in core groups for the season 2. This does not mean that you will work everyday, but you need to have good availability because the schedule can shift – i.e. this isn’t a 9 to 5 scenario. You need to have flexibility to work with the show’s production schedule – the show doesn’t work around your schedule.
Please DO NOT SUBMIT for MULTIPLE ROLES – Put in for the one that best matches your personality – we will make the determination if you are a better match for another core group.
If you were a recurring extra last season, we have reached out by either email or text message.

ROLES:

• A & R GROUP & EMPIRE EMPLOYEES – cool business vibe, but hip and trendy
• BOARDROOM MEMBERS – suit types
• MUSICIANS – we are looking for real musicians (and we want to know your musical experience), but this is just about portraying the part, not actually playing on the show
• SECURITY/BOUNCERS – this group should be men of a larger statue
• POLICE OFFICERS – we are looking for real police officers, but since the setting is NY, the rate will typically be standard BG rate. If the script calls for ability, the rate would increase.
