Fiddler on the Roof Auditions – Downtown Cabaret Theatre Main Stage Theatre

Downtown Cabaret Theatre Main Stage Theatre (Eli Newsom, Artistic Director; Hugh Hallinan Executive Producer) is holding an open call audition for FIDDLER ON THE ROOF on September 8 & 9; Director: Joel Fenster; Musical Director: Clay Zambo; Choreographer: Lindsay Johnson. The show runs Dec 4-20 at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre 263 Golden Hill St in Bridgeport, CT. Please note that the auditions will take place at University of Bridgeport (see below for address info).
We are seeking a large cast of approximately 35 performers ages 8-80 for this classic family musical. There are principal roles available as well as numerous featured supporting roles, and a featured dancing ensemble (also seeking dancers with tap experience). Please note the role of Tevye is cast. Non-Equity, no pay.
AUDITION INFO:
When: Two open-call auditions will take place, Tuesday September 8 & Wednesday September 9:
CHILDREN ONLY (ages 15 and under) from 5:45pm-7pm (sign-in begins at 5:15pm, please don’t arrive before 5pm)
ADULTS ONLY (ages 16+) from 7pm-9:30pm (sign-in begins at 6pm, sign-in ends at 8:30pm)
Actors will be seen in order of arrival, with the exception of the actors who have secured appointments (scroll down below for info on how to reserve a timeslot). For those unable to attend auditions, in some cases the director may consider video submissions. Please email christy@mycabaret.org for info.
Actors who auditioned at Season General Auditions:
If you auditioned at season general auditions in August, and are requested by the director for callbacks, you will be contacted by August 15. If you have not been contacted you are welcome to re-audition.

What to prepare:
All actors should bring a current headshot (or recent photo) and 1 page acting resume or list of theater/performing experience.
Please prepare a short selection (no longer than 1 minute) of a song in the style of the show. Singing from the show is ok. Bring sheet music in the correct key—a capella singing is highly discouraged.
