Want to get into a country western TV series? If you live around the Austin area, here is a chance to get cast in a small role.
“Urban Cowboy” TV show is coming to FOX in 2016… well maybe… but the pilot is filming now in the Austin area and looking to cast talent.
There is a current need for REAL waiters and waitresses who are Hispanic for a scene filming this coming Monday, the 21st as well as some tough looking Hispanic, male extras between the ages of 30 and 45. Also, the show needs extras to play country club guests. The show has been releasing numerous casting calls and has an open casting call coming up this week for country western dancers. See Country Western Dancers for “Urban Cowboy” Remake – TX. The TV pilot will be filming this month around the Austin and San Antonio Texas areas. The show’s casting directors at Brock / Allen are only considering talent that is local to the area and all talent must have valid Texas ID in order to get the roles.
The 80s film is getting a modern day remake as a TV series and talent in the Austin area may apply to be considered for small roles in the pilot. According to a Rolling Stone article, the remake will borrow from the film but be a completely updated series. The show will focus on many of the same things that the original movie did such as Texas legacies, oil workers, country music and of course…. line dancing.
