Hurricane Mathew just left the Jacksonville, Florida area yesterday. I lost a fence, not bad when I live 3 miles from the ocean. Other family members live on Anastasia Island off St Augustine, Florida, all that they had as damage was fallen branches. Their home was two blocks from the ocean. The youngest member of the family who is in her mid 20s with a toddler lives on St Augustine Island. She was the last member of the family allowed back to her home. Her home is a total loss, there is no home to go back to. She is a stay at home mom, her husband works as an engineer for Grumman. Of all of us they are the ones with the least ability to recover financially or emotionally. Would HGTV have an interest in the recovery process of a beach home from a disaster?
