ID2 finally has a title and still looking to fill some recurring roles to work in June, July and August
The “Independence Day” sequel is filming in the Albuquerque area and is looking to cast talent to portray area 51 soldiers, staff and pilots for multiple work dates this June, July and August. OLC is looking for talent that has a very open and flexible schedule that will allow them to work 10+ days and attend wardrobe fittings in Albuquerque. The production is seeking New Mexico locals only on this one. According to OLC’s casting call for extras below, they are seeking “FLEXIBLE AND EAGER PEOPLE WHO WANT TO BE A Reliable MAJOR PART OF THIS FILM.”
“Independence Day 2“, which according to an update on MTV.com, is being called “Independence Day Resurgence”. The sci-fi sequel will be split into 2 films. “Independence Day Part 1” is filming now and according to the film’s IMDB page, ID2 has a hefty budget of $200,000,000. “Independence Day 2: Independence Day Resurgence” has managed to get most of the original main cast on board for the sequel. Jeff Goldblum, Vivica A. Fox and Bill Pullman are all returning for the sequel. “Independence Day Resurgence” will also star Charlotte Gainsbourg, Liam Hemsworth, Travis Tope and Jessie Usher. Liam Hemsworth , Chris Hemsworth’s brother, will be replacing Will Smith as the new lead. While Will Smith may be missing from the new cast, his legacy will live on in ID2. The new extras call for the project mentions a major character in the movie will be Will Smith’s son… whom we last say in ’96 as a kindergartner.
Fans still have a bit of a wait before they can see any of this in action. 20th Century Fox just released some really cool photos from the set. We know from the many recent ID2 moon base scene casting calls that the Alien invasion this time around will take the cast to the moon and the film released set photos from those scenes. “Independence Day Resurgence” is set to hit the movie theaters in the summer of 2016. These will be a RE-CURRING roles that work multiple dates between now and August. Extremely TENTATIVE dates are 7/7, 7/10, 7/13, 7/14, 7/15, 8/3, 8/4, 8/5, 8/6, 8/7 and possible others TBD
We do not have call/wrap times so you would need to be fully 100% available on each work date. You MUST have open/flexible availability if submitting so that you can work WHATEVER the call times & wrap times end up being. You will be a part of the Dylan Squadron (the guy who is playing the role of Will Smith’s son from the first “ID” film) so will be featured in all scenes that Dylan works in.
ALL MEN MUST BE WILLING TO LET US GIVE YOU A SHORT MILITARY STYLE HAIRCUT! Unless you already have very short hair, everyone WILL be given haircuts and will be paid $20 for the haircut. Ladies, as long as your hair is natural you will be fine without haircuts*
