There is a rush call for kids 9 to 15 who are available to work as paid extras on a softball scene filming for “Going In Style“.
The comedy just began filming in the New York area and is looking for kids with work permits for NY that are available to work in the Astoria area tomorrow. Since this is a rush call, kids applying for the movie roles must already have a work permit as there is not enough time to apply for one for those that may not have it.
“Going in Style” is being remade…. 35+ years after the original George Burns film. The original film came out in 1979 and starred George Burns, Art Carney and Lee Strasberg as 3 seniors who did away with the mundane to pull off a bank heist. The remake will follow that same story line. The 2016 remake will star Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Alan Arkin as three senior room mates who say to hell with it all and go for broke in the heist of their lives…. something none of them have ever done before. “Going in Style” also stars Joey King and Maria Dizzia and will be directed by Zach Braff.
According to Variety, Matt Dillon and Ann-Margret have also joined the cast of the caper comedy. In the 2016 version of “Going ion Style“, Freeman, Caine, and Arkin play three retired men who lose their pensions that they have worked for their entire lives. Desperate for money to survive, they plan a heist on the bank that is withholding their retirement from them. Matt Dillon plays the FBI agent who is hot on their trail and Ann-Margret has the role of one of the characters love interests.
