I’m a high school junior, and this is my first film. If all goes well I’ll be using it as my visual sample when I apply to USC and NYU next year. Because of the amateur nature of this project, I would really like to stress that I only want to work with actors that live close by. Otherwise, I’d feel like I might be wasting your time. (Not that this movie will be terrible, but it will be my first attempt at making one.) I can’t pay any actors, but I will provide snacks, you will get a copy of the final product, and you will, of course, get credit for your work.

I don’t have any set dates for auditions yet, but I’d like them to take place sometime during the first two weeks of May 2015.

“See You Later Alligator” is a short film meant to explore the gray area between right and wrong. A young, adventure-starved man, regretting his recent marriage, flees his oppressive life in 1950’s suburbia, leaving his pregnant wife behind. Over sixty years later, the two meet again.

Character Bios

[ROBERT MURPHY] [GENDER: FEMALE] [AGE: 17-25]
Robert is a a tall man with dark hair and serious eyes, aged twenty three. He has trouble holding down a job because he is a terrible worker with his head constantly in the clouds. He loses job after job, while the bills pile up back home with his young, newly-pregnant wife. Robert is tired of it all, tired of day dreaming and wishing for a life that he was too afraid to make happen when one day, something snaps inside. He can’t handle it anymore, so he leaves his wife and unborn child.

[HELEN MURPHY] [GENDER: FEMALE] [AGE: 17-25]
Helen is a a slender, quiet woman with brown hair and pale skin, aged twenty. She is trying to make it work with Robert, and when he leaves her it is her responsibility to keep her life, as well as the life of her unborn child, in order.

[MICHAEL CONNOR] [GENDER: MALE] [AGE: 17-25]
Michael is a good-looking man of average height with blond hair, aged twenty two. He is a caring, family man, who eventually becomes Helen’s second husband and accepts her child as his own.

[OLDER HELEN] [GENDER: FEMALE] [AGE: 60-80]
Older Helen is Helen Murphy, but older. She has gained weight, developed wrinkles, and begun to gray.

[OLDER ROBERT] [GENDER: MALE] [AGE: 60-80]
Older Robert is Robert Murphy, but older. He has gained weight, developed a limp, and begun to lose his hair.
