Location: New Jersey/New York

Type: Theater

Dover Little Theatre, 69 Elliott Street, Dover NJ will hold auditions for Sharr White’s The Other Place on Monday April 12 at 7pm, Tuesday April 13 at 7pm with call backs on April 15th at 7pm.

Synopsis:
Juliana Smithton is a successful neurologist whose life seems to be coming unhinged. Her husband has filed for divorce, her daughter has eloped with a much older man and her own health is in jeopardy. Piece by piece, a mystery unfolds as fact blurs with fiction, past collides with present and the elusive truth about Juliana boils to the surface.

Director Alison Devereaux is seeking the following:

Juliana – female 40’s – a scientist who develops early onset dementia. Because of that, she must be played with a wide range of emotions and be comedic and tragic as well. Juliana is on stage throughout the entire show and never leaves the stage.

Ian – male 40’s – 50’s – Juliana’s husband. Confused and supportive (as much as he can be) of his wife’s situation. A very layered and complicated character.

The woman – late 20’s – early 30’s – plays many parts in the show including a doctor and Juliana and Ian’s daughter.

The man – late 20’s to early 30’s – plays many parts including Juliana’s lab assistant.
