Plot: A violent drug-abusing teen must come to terms with being a responsible adult figure for both himself and his younger brother as he drifts through the school day and is later forced to confront his estranged father of whom he hasn’t seen in years.

A macho-aggressive delinquent when in school and an older brother figure at home. He is an extremely volatile, hedonistic, and insecure boy who, underneath his bad-boy persona, just wants to be loved and accepted.

An emotionally distant mother who lounges around the house and who still feels deep sorrow and insecurity over the destruction of her previous marriage. She is not very good at communicating with her children and is extremely neglectful towards them. Knowing how to speak Mandarin is a plus.

A stern, stoic business-like man who tries to handle everything including issues pertaining to family, with a professional attitude. He is an emotionally distant parental figure who tries to mask his own insecurities and paternal failures by trying to appear successful. He believes American youths are lazy, careless, and weak. Must know how to speak Mandarin.
