Open auditions for singers to join the cast of the Broadway show “Motown the Musical“
Does everyone say you have an amazing voice and should be on Broadway? Have you been looking for ways to audition for a hit Broadway musical? If so, here is your chance to be heard by casting directors for the hit Broadway show “Motown“. Auditions for the Broadway show are going on this month and singers can either submit an online audition video or attend the upcoming open call. The Broadway show and national touring production are looking for extraordinary singers to join the cast. The show’s casting directors will be in Cincinnati Ohio and holding open auditions for singers on the 16th of this month.
The show is looking for African American male and female singers, ages 20s to 40s, who have amazing voices and are able to play Motown legends. No prior acting or theater experience is required. The show is also casting a few kids, boys ages 8 to 13 to play Michael Jackson, Barry Gordy and Stevie Wonder.
MOTOWN THE MUSICAL tells the true story behind such music icons as Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and The Temptations. The show features music from legendary artists and includes 40 classic songs such as “My Girl,” “What’s Going On,” “Dancing in the Street,” “I Heard It Through The Grapevine” and “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.

Talent and singers planning on auditioning will need to sing a song from the Motown songbook during the audition process. Singers attending will need to bring the sheet music for the song they will be singing at the casting. Also, talent must bring a photo or headshot they are able to leave with the Motown casting directors as well as a resume. Photos do not need to be professional. Singers who do not have professional headshots can bring a recent snapshot instead.
