Film Project “Lost Face” – PAID SHORT FILM – LOST FACE – OPEN CASTING CALL for Indigenous actors.

Location: Calgary and Edmonton Alberta Canada

Open Casting Call in Edmonton, Calgary and Rocky Mountain House.

Casting indigenous talent. No acting experience necessary although actors welcome! We are looking for period looking faces. Cast must have long hair to represent the tribes from the 1800’s. Filming location within 2 hours of Calgary.

Fees and conditions appropriate to ACTRA AIP Agreement class 1 film. Payment is $200 per day for principals, actors $150.00 per day and extras $100 per day. Shoot dates: Between 5th to 12th December 2015. Casting dates below. Great director who has won over 50 international awards.

Lost Face is a short film adaptation of a story written by legendary writer Jack London. Set in the mid 1800’s it tells the story of Subienkow, the second-to-last survivor of a group of Russian fur thieves. The fur traders have been defeated, by liberators from the local Cree tribe, who they enslaved as forced labour. Now Subienkow faces a long, protracted and painful death unless he can come up with a plan for escape. He calls over Makamuk, the chief, and begins to bargain.

Acting auditions in Canada for film

Available Roles:

  • Chief’s Daughter Indigenous . 16-25 yrs old homely looking, simplistic, a little shy- introverted. Roles – Indigenous Women 16 years to 70 years : Women wanting retribution on the fur traders who enslaved them & their family. They take revenge on Big Ivan a captured fur thief.
  • Woman 16 to 35 years old: Indigenous female interpreter MUST speak Cree and English. She is the voice of the tribe in a sense the narrator of the film.
  • Warrior Men: Indigenous. Strong character faces all ages (although no younger than 18yrs old). They are strong athletic types. Long hair strong appropriate to the 1800’s.
  • Tribe members. Indigenous. Male and female 16 to 80 yrs old. Great character faces.
  • Indigenous Cree speaking people all ages male and female.
