The new Jonah Hill crime comedy is now in production and there is a casting call out for extras in the El Centro, CA area.
An open casting call is scheduled for this coming Saturday, the 28th at the Imperial Valley Mall. Central casting is seeking male and female extras between the ages of 18 and 55 to play military personnel, civilians and Middle East citizens. “Arms and the Dudes” begins filming next month.
The Warner Bros. film is being directed by Todd Phillips (“The Hangover”), Bradley Cooper and Mark Gordon with Bryan Zuriff is executive producing. “Arms and the Dudes” is based on Guy Lawson’s Rolling Stone article about 2 stoners turned arms dealers. THR reports that Phillips and Bradley Cooper have formed a production company to work on the new film. The film is described as a comedy drama that is inspired by true events. “Arms and the Dudes” follows 25 year-old David Packouz and 21 year-old Efraim Diveroli, who scored a $300 million Pentagon contract to arm allies in Afghanistan. The men realize they may have gotten in way over their heads and find themselves in trouble on both sides. Their international arms trafficking endeavor will eventually lead to the pair getting busted for fraud.
