“Rocky” Series New Film, “Creed” Casting Call for Lots of Paid Extras

The Rocky series of films will be getting a new installment with “Creed” and the film is about to begin production in Philly.

The new “Rocky” movie will be filming soon and will be needing lots, like tons, of paid extras for all those fight scenes. The film is currently set to begin shooting on January 26 and casting directors for the project have promised lots of opportunities for locals and local actors to get in on the act as background players, featured extras or other small roles. “Creed” will star Sylvester Stallone, Michael B. Jordan, Tessa Thompson and Phylicia Rashad.

Michael B. Jordan will star in the new film as the grandson of Apollo Creed who decides to become a boxer just like his famous grandfather. Michael B. Jordan will also be seen in another upcoming project. He will be playing Johnny Storm/The Human Torch in the 2015 Fantastic Four reboot as well. Sylvester Stallone also seems to be on-board and taking on his previous role as Rocky Balboa, an older Rocky Balboa. In the film, he is supposedly going to be taking on the role of coach / mentor to his old friend’s grandson. THR reported that there may be some sports superstars involved in the project as well. According to them, champion boxers Andre Ward and Tony Bellew are in negotiations for roles in the MGM Rocky spinoff.

According to the Philly CBS site, the films casting directors at Heery Casting are looking to fill many extras roles. Philidelphia area locals ages 18 to 70 are all welcome to apply to be part of the film. Talent interested in the paid extra work can follow the below instructions to get those submissions to Heery.
