A night in Blk 815

Student film “A night in Blk 815” will be filming in Singapore next month. Project directed by Zhao Shiqing and produced by Cera Goh. Auditions will be held at ir Lasalle College of the Arts and filming will take place between late Febuary and early March. There is no pay.

‘A day in Block 815’ tells an adventure of a girl who learns to understand the older generation after cooking for a retired chef, Mr Chen. Her encounter with Mr Chen too essentially healed the strained relationship between herself and her bedridden mother, whom she thought never care for her.
Character Descriptions
Mr Chen
Looks around 60, Chinese, Male.
He used to be a chef but is now a retired old man. He is wise, strict and quirky, maybe a little crazy too.
Old Lady
Looks around 60, Chinese, Female
Slightly skinny grey haired old lady with her age caught up with her, bound to a wheelchair.
Aunty/ Old lady’s daughter
Looks around 45, Chinese, Female
She is almost retiring. Due to her mother’s condition, she is worn out looking after her, thus she is tired looking and slightly ungroomed.
Woman
Looks around 45, Chinese, Female
A mother of three, easily irritated, slightly obese, fierce looking.
Girl’s mother
Looks between 30 – 40, Chinese, Female
Bedridden, tries to be loving to daughter (girl) but gets misunderstood. Kind and loving.
Cook
Looks between 20 – 25, Chinese, Male
An intern to Mr Chen, he is hardworking, passionate and full of energy.
5 Waiters
Looks between 20 – 25, Preferably Chinese, Male / Female
They are professional waiters in the fancy restaurant. They are very friendly and helpful, striving to provide the best service to their guests.
Girl
Looks between 18 – 20, Chinese, Female
Preferably short hair, she is tough looking due to her difficult family background; having to work several part time jobs, but she yearns for love and is soft at heart.
Woman’s 2 children
Looks between 5 – 8, Chinese, Male
Mischievous kids who always run around playing chase, and end up reprimanded by their mother.
Woman’s toddler
Between 2 – 3, Chinese, Male / Female
Still a young baby, he/she needs constant care from his/her mother (woman).
