Students now in grades 6-12 may apply for the North Shore Summer Theater Workshop, a six-week non-profit program of intensive production-based study of all aspects of dramatic arts. We are staging two productions, “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” and a “New Works Cabaret” featuring some of the best new songs in musical theater today. Rehearsals are Mondays through Thursdays, 2 pm to 6 pm, June 29 to August 6 in the air-conditioned performing arts facilities of North Shore HS in Glen Head, Long Island, NY (the workshop is NOT affiliated with the school district.) Peformances are July 31, August 1, 7 & 8. Students must apply in order to schedule an audition.
All performers will have responsibilities off-stage. Students may also apply for tech work only. The program fee is $1,700 and includes 150+ hours of instructional, rehearsal and performance time; all production materials; daily snacks and tech-week meals; a souvenir t-shirt, program and poster and two tickets to each performance (up to 12 total in any grouping.)
