We wanted to let you know that DFW Icon Vocal Competition is coming back to the 32nd Annual Grapevine Main Street Fest. I have attached the press release. It gives you great information on the competition, the prizes and some of our sponsors.
Grapevine’s 32nd Annual Main Street Fest Teams Up With A&R and Entertainment Company JG Entertainment for the 3rd Annual DFW ICON Vocal Competition May 20, 21 & 22.
Please note that there is a participation / registration fee for the vocalist competition of $50.
As part of the 32nd Annual Main Street Fest held in Historic Downtown Grapevine May 20, 21 and 22, JG Entertainment will host the 3rd Annual DFW ICON vocal competition. At this exciting competition, JG Entertainment expects to find promising talent in hopes of launching the next big star. DFW ICON will also benefit Kidd’s Kids, the organization founded by the late Kidd Kraddick.
DFW ICON will open the microphone to talented singers between the ages 7 to 30 years old. Winner packages exceed $20,000 in prizes including recording with award winning producers, artist branding, social media branding, photo shoots, image consulting, scholarships and more.
At the helm of DFW ICON is Dallas native, Jonathan George, CEO of JG Entertainment. George currently lives in LA and is responsible for producing some of the biggest young names on Disney, Nickelodeon, MTV, Universal, Sony and more. He is responsible for developing American Idol’s Dalton Rapattoni and last year’s Top 12 Guys Trevor Douglas. George states, “It is exciting to come home to Dallas to find the most promising talent. We are always looking for new and up coming stars. Stars are not born, they are created.”
JG Entertainment has partnered with School of Rock, the home of Dalton Rapattoni, to give music scholarships to the winners. Also, one lucky winner will receive a full scholarship to LA’s top Summer Intensive at the Hollywood Launch Academy, which is home to Becky G, Ross Lynch and R5 among many other young stars.
Preliminary rounds will be held at the Palace Theatre May 20 and 21. Finals will be held on the Main Stage on May 22. Talent will be placed in four categories grouped by ages 7-11, 12-15, 16- 19 and 20-30. Those wanting to compete must register online at www.DFWICON.com.
