Acting Auditions, Native American Actors in Los Angeles for Movie Project

Native American Talent for Feature Film

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Type: Film

A feature length film by artist Basma Alsharif commissioned for the 2017 Whitney Biennial. The film is based on the idea of the “ouroboros”- the snake eating its tail- that destruction signals a new beginning, and every beginning an eventual demise. It chronicles the experience of a heartbroken man as he travels from Gaza to Los Angeles and witnesses a variety of cultural “ouroboros” in both locations.

The role we are casting is that of an actor/actress auditioning for a role in a commercial Hollywood film. The role the character is auditioning for is that of an Arab, and the script being auditioned for will become the reality they are in, which involves fleeing to an abandoned motel in the desert.

We are specifically looking to cast Native Americans for this role to highlight the film industry’s re-writing of ethnicity in commercial film.
Filming takes place in LA and in Mojave.

Payment: non-Paid

I put an actor forward for this role but after some discussions with the production company, I discovered that this is UNPAID role unlike the advert above.
