Paid Theatre for Youth performers needed- Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat

Location: Austin, TX (Georgetown)

Type: Theater

Seeking 6 adult actors (1 women, 2 men, 3 either) to perform in paid “theatre for youth” daytime performances. This adaptation of “The Cat in the Hat” uses a lot of visual storytelling, so we are looking for actors who can physically express themselves with their bodies. Please come dressed to move and play!

Auditions February 10th & 11th, Performances March 8th-April 9th

The National Theatre’s adaptation of Dr. Seuss’s The Cat In The Hat is a lively, engaging “play with sound effects” for performance by adults for young children. Not a word has been touched or added to Dr. Seuss’s classic, ensuring anyone who’s read the story will find themselves transported into the world they’ve always imagined. Looking for strong character actors who can move well. Experience in children’s theatre a plus.

Actors should prepare a one minute monologue that showcases their storytelling abilities especially to a target audience of young children.
