Performer Auditions announced for North Pole Express Christmas show, performed on the Essex Steam Train in Essex, CT during the 2016 holiday season.

CASTING NOTICE:

THE NORTH POLE EXPRESS, SECOND ROUND AUDITIONS – 9 PERFORMERS NEEDED

AUGUST 13TH & 14TH from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm at Riverway Studio, East Moodus, CT.

Riverway Studio and the Valley Railroad are looking for charismatic actors/singers/performers with excellent stage presence and people skills to audition for the popular North Pole
Express Christmas show, performed on the Essex Steam Train in Essex, CT for the 2016 holiday season. This is a family show that has played to sold-out audiences for the last 11 years.

We are looking for energetic performers aged 16-55 who have the stamina to perform back-to-back 90 minute shows. You will need to command an audience on a moving train car, improvise, have good memorization and multi-tasking skills, and enjoy an interactive-based theatrical experience.

Rehearsals and performances are in the evening and are held at the Valley Railroad in Essex, CT. Rehearsals begin on October 6th, with the first performances starting November 10th and the last show scheduled for Dec. 29th. There are no performances on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Note: Your commute to performances should be within 1 hour and thirty minutes of Essex, CT.

We will be hiring actors for approximately 10 – 30 performance dates out of the 37-day performance schedule.
Callbacks will be scheduled shortly thereafter.

What to prepare:

Please prepare two contrasting Christmas songs. You can sing them either acapella or with a pre-recorded track. An mp3 player and CD player will be available to play your tracks.
Also prepare an upbeat monologue no longer than 1 minute. You may also be asked to improvise. Please bring a picture and resume to the audition. You can send photos and resumes in advance to the email address below.
