Casting “Heat” A short film. “Heat” – During a summer heat wave, a young woman struggles to stay safe when an attacker is loose in her urban neighborhood. But can she be cautious without slipping into paranoia?
Rehearsal and Production Dates:
Filming takes place during the first week of June 2016. Locations are in Denver, Colorado.
Compensation Details:
Pays $100 per day. Most actors will only be required for a single day.

Casting Roles
- Lucy (Lead): Female, 18–28, Any Ethnicity
- Lucy has led a sheltered life—she’s shy, young, and fragile. Now that she’s on her own, she feels overwhelmed with life in the city. A good girl.
- Sarah (Supporting): Female, 18–30, Any Ethnicity
- Sarah is Lucy’s older, more worldly roommate who treats Lucy as a little sister. Confident and full of unsolicited advice, but dismissive of others’ needs in favor of her own (sometimes silly) desires.
- Radian (Supporting): Male, 23–33, Any Ethnicity
- Radian is a hipster artist having a show of his work. Charming, friendly, attractive. He goes out of his way to make people comfortable, but is more interested in attention than relationships.
- Clerk (Supporting): Male, 40–60, Any Ethnicity
- The Clerk sells Lucy a canister of pepper spray. He says all women should empower themselves, while taking a slightly condescending tone in teaching them to do so.
- Construction Worker (Supporting): Male, 30–60, Any Ethnicity
- The Construction Worker works on the air conditioning system in Lucy and Sarah’s apartment. He makes himself at home on the job, and seems to delight in making Lucy uncomfortable.
- Police Officer (Supporting): Male, 40–60, Any Ethnicity
- The Police Officer takes Lucy’s statement after a stranger tries to force his way into Lucy’s apartment.
