Please prepare 16 bars of a Musical Theatre song (in your key) that showcases your range and personality.
Bring sheet music; a pianist will be provided.
No acapella or recorded music.
Wear or bring proper dance attire (no sandals or flip-flops).
You may be asked to sing from the score.
If you are auditioning for one of the 5 principals, you may be asked to stay and sing the selected audition cut that can be found on the Eight O’Clock Theatre website (mp3 and sheet music provided):

Evita musical auditions

Cast Requirements:

Eva Peron (First lady of Argentina): Ages 25-40. Legit Mezzo with a clear, strong mix that can belt to a high G and sing to a low E (below middle C). Must be a passionate and strong actor, dancer a plus.

Che (Argentina’s “everyman” who acts as narrator): Ages 18-35. An actor/singer that must move very well with a high, rock tenor voice that can sing a low A to a high B, falsetto to high F.

Juan Peron (President of Argentina): Ages 35-55. A strong actor and singer who can play character/leading man. Vocal bass/baritone to high F.

Augustin Magaldi (Tango singer): Ages 30-40. A Latin American “personality” type and feel that needs to be bigger than life, but real at the same time. Sings high tenor to high G. Doubles as ensemble.

Mistress (Peron’s underage mistress): Ages 16-20. Must be able to move well and sing a low A to a high E. Doubles as ensemble.

Children: Ages 6-12. 2 young girls who are included in the ensemble, but have solo lines in “Santa Evita.” Must sing and move well.

Ensemble: broad range of men and women all ages and ethnicities. Must sing well and move well, dancers a plus. Each ensemble member will play a large number of roles.
