1939 Basketball Play About Harlem

Story line: HARLEM RENS is inspired by the 1939 Harlem Rens basketball team. A story of seven men who overcame adversity to win more than 2,000 games while barnstorming throughout segregated parts of the country in the 1930s. The team was formed five years before the Harlem Globetrotters. They toured the country competing against black and white teams, and in the process, compiled the most impressive winning streak in basketball history. The play performed for the NBA Legends during the 2015 All-Star week in NYC, and was also a mainstage production at the 2015 National Black Theatre Festival.
CASTING – 8 African American males 20- 40- Athletic, in shape and ale to play basketball.
ALL characters MUST be able to dribble, pass a basketball and have top athletic skills. There is lot of choreography in the play. Only experienced actors submit. MUST be in Miami for rehearsals
7pm – 10pm – Dec 5th – Jan 3 ( off for holidays) Show runs Jan 5th – Jan 29th – thursday- Sunday and the Sandrell Rivers Theatre in Miami.
